3 Tips To Help You Prepare For The Halloween Full Moon

There’s a Full Moon on Halloween this year, and things could get a little weird.

October has already been a crazy month in the sky. Mercury has been bouncing through Retrograde in Scorpio since October 13, and Mars is still inching its way along its (very) long retrograde in its home sign of Aries.

But there is one final culminating event that this month has been leading towards: the Full Moon in Taurus on Halloween.

And it’s looking like a wild one.

The Full Moon will occur at 8 degrees Taurus at 10:48 AM EST on October 31, 2020, forming an exact conjunction with Uranus.

Halloween is already a mysterious date. Many cultures around the world believe that October 31st is when the veil between the living and the dead is at its thinnest. Add a Full Moon into the mix, and you know it’s going to get weird.

Usually, we love a Moon in Taurus: since the Moon is in its exaltation in this Earth sign, it’s a very grounding and comforting lunation.

Taurus naps; Taurus eats; Taurus enjoys the smell of the roses. And a Taurus Full Moon is the perfect time to sink our feet into the ground and celebrate the things that comfort us.

But this year’s Full Moon in Taurus is different: as it meets up with Uranus on the night of Halloween, it’s going to take on a very different energy.

Uranus is the planet of freedom, liberation, and disruption. It has the exact opposite vibe to a Taurus Moon. While a Taurus Moon seeks to stabilize, ground and nurture, Uranus is known as the great interruptor. It de-stabilizes order through shock and disruption. So when the two planets meet on Halloween night, we know it’s going to be a big one.

How can you prepare for this powerful cosmic event? Expect the unexpected. Here are all the details you need to know to help you navigate this potentially disruptive Full Moon.

1. Be Open To Change

The winds of change are blowing with this powerful Full Moon, and it may feel a little uncomfortable at first. With a Moon in Taurus, there can be a tendency to hold onto things, or to revert back to behaviours that no longer empower you. But change is inevitable, and this Full Moon is here to remind us.

As we approach this Full Moon, let go of any fear and control and make space for change to happen naturally. Resisting it will only hold you back from your own growth.

2. Let Go Of What No Longer Serves You

Full Moons are always a good time for releasing. Are there habits or behaviours you’ve been wanting to let go of? Although change can be scary, know that you are fully supported as you plant the seeds for your next chapter.

Remember that this Full Moon is encouraging you to allow the surge of energy to come through and create space for change. It can feel uncomfortable in the moment, but it’s meant to help you move through something that’s been stuck.

With the powerfully stabilizing energy of Taurus anchoring this Full Moon, you’ll have all the support and structure you need to let go of old habits and make the changes you’ve been dreaming of.

3. Be Prepared for a Surprise

Finally, get ready to expect the unexpected. Uranus transits can often bring shocking news, big events and surprises.

With the intense energy of this month building up towards this powerful Full Moon, we may see some big revelations – on both a personal and collective level. This could mean secrets revealed or new truths brought to light. And with the Sun in Scorpio during this Full Moon, themes of power will be particularly illuminated.

But, it’s not all scary.

With the swift changes that Uranus can bring, comes innovation. You may start to experience new ideas that you didn’t have before, or new ways of looking at old problems. Embrace this unexpected inspiration and see where it leads you.

Let the winds of change flow through you – you never know where they may blow.
